I know a girl who gets terrible migraines. at least one a week. It gets to the point where she feels extremely nautious and she even throws up. she becomes basically incapable of doing much of anything. I was wondering if anyone knew what might be causing this and what good treatment, either medicinally or through other homemade or alternative medicine procedures? Her doctor she has visited 4 times has prescribed her the same medicine to no avail every time she has visited him. Any advice would be great!

migraine research

There are various times when my vision gets really blurry and soon after I get a really bad migraine. In about half an hour, the blurred vision goes away, but the migraine still remains. and then soon after that I start throwing up (usually more than once) and then a few minutes after throwing up the migraine slowly gets better, but the migraine doesn’t go away until about an hour or so. I don’t have bad vision or anything. The very first time this happened to me was when I rode in a rail cart up a mountain. I haven’t gotten one of these migraines recently, but I want to know what this is called and how I can prevent it.

I get migraine attacks and I’m 18…

When I know I’m going to get a migraine, my feet and other parts of my body get tingly…,my heart speeds up randomly. I smell a weird smell. I get a little light headed and everything just feels weird. Like an out of body experience.

Why does that happen?

relief from migraine headaches

I just have some questions about migraines. Luckily, I don’t get them, however my boyfriend suffers from them on a very regular basis. He usually gets one at least once a week, but it’s likely that he’ll have 2 or 3 before the week is over with. He doesn’t have insurance so he hasn’t gone to the doctor for them since he was a child. Nothing over-the-counter will help, he basically just lies in the bed for the rest of the day throwing up. It’s really beginning to effect our relationship, and lately I’ve become worried that he may have a more serious problem. I’d heard that you usually only get migraines 1-3 times a month but he gets them three times as much. Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice on trying to help deal w/ these and what may help him to feel better???
(Yes, I know the doctor is the best bet but he’s not going to go…..)

I’m at work and I started to get a headache which I’m prone to, but it’s turning into a bad migraine and it’s to the point where there’s a spot on my scalp that’s sensitive to touch. And no.. I have not fallen or hit my head. Do you think I should just lay down and continue to see what happens or should I go to the emergency room?

What causes a headache vs what causes a migraine? I heard it’s something to do with capillaries or something but I can’t find a good explanation anywhere?

what are some natural ways to help relieve a migraine? I have already seen many doctors and i would like to know of a natural alternative that has worked for others.. meds soo far haven’t worked for me. nor does advil and other type of over teh counter drugs

I’m also curious to know if anyone has the same or similar migraines to me…I get where my eyes hurt..it usually happens when teh sun is going down and the light is slowly changing..I get squinty and my head across my forehead hurts, sometimes my left temple area gets a tense pain as well.

I’ve seen an eye doctor a neurologist, my regular doctor and an allergie doctor b/c they thought and allergies as well.
